Electrical Engineering Specialist

Location - Toronto, ON

Your role within the team:

  • Develop plan and profile drawings of Overhead lines and underground Cables for distribution network in coordination with engineers.
  • Assist design engineer to develop underground cable routing conduit and trench plan layout and sections for distribution network.
  • Assist Design Engineer to prepare Scope of Work using the planning specification information.
  • Perform simple estimates using data from the utility material database.
  • Assist Design Engineer to prepare electrical material requisitions and performance specifications.
  • Assist Design engineer in developing electrical substation facilities including site and bus work layouts, ground grid drawings, plot plans and elevation drawings for outdoor substation equipment.
  • Work closely with peers and other discipline designers to ensure accurate delivery that will meet utility Standards, industry standards and meet good engineering practices, policies and procedures.

The ideal candidate:

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
  • Working towards P.Eng. Licensing.
  • A minimum of 1 - 3 years experience (post graduation) in Transmission and Distribution sector.
  • Experience in working with client engineers in client offices is an asset.
  • Experience in AutoCAD and MicroStation drafting is an asset.
