We are seeking an experienced and dynamic professional to join our team as the Head of Rail, with a specialized focus on Overhead Electrification (OHE), traction systems, and third rail installation. This key leadership role is based in Chennai and requires a seasoned expert with a deep understanding of rail infrastructure projects and a proven track record in managing complex rail system installations.

Key Responsibilities Include

Leadership and Strategy:

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership for all OHE, traction, and third rail installation projects.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive project plans, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry standards.
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team, fostering a culture of excellence, safety, and continuous improvement.

Project Management:

  • Oversee the planning, design, and execution of OHE, traction, and third rail installation projects.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Manage project risks, issues, and change control processes effectively.

Technical Expertise:

  • Serve as the technical authority on OHE, traction systems, and third rail technology.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant engineering standards, safety regulations, and best practices.
  • Evaluate and implement innovative technologies and methodologies to enhance project efficiency and performance.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, contractors, regulatory bodies, and industry partners.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to senior management and stakeholders on project progress and performance.

Resource Management:

  • Manage resources effectively, including personnel, equipment, and materials.
  • Ensure the development and training of team members to maintain a high level of expertise and capability.
  • Oversee procurement processes and negotiate contracts with suppliers and contractors.

Experience, Education and other requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in rail infrastructure projects, with a focus on OHE, traction, and third rail installation.
  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role, managing large-scale rail projects.
  • Strong technical knowledge of rail systems and infrastructure.
  • Excellent project management skills, with a track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to lead and inspire a diverse team of professionals.
  • Flexible to Travel - This role is based in Chennai, with occasional travel to project sites and stakeholder meetings as required.
