The I&C Project Engineers are highly valued and are relied on to provide technical leadership in their area of expertise. They are one of the first to be consulted for any major construction project related to I&C and System Integration.
How will you contribute to the team?
- Early in the project, assess feasibility of new projects.
- Later in the project, develop more detailed scope through field walks and collaboration with facilities operations partners and project engineers from other disciplines.
- During detailed design and construction, serve as the Owner's representative to provide technical guidance and issue resolution.
- They also manage performance of the Integrators Architectural and Engineering/Owners design Consultant vendor in their disciplines.
- Develop discipline scope and engineering solutions for construction projects.
- Interface and coordinate with contract design, construction, scheduling, and estimating resources.
- Interface with facilities staff and project managers to enable facility design efforts for their area of expertise.
- Define design criteria, lead scope definition and justification, develop design concepts, and oversee completion of positioning, programming, and detailed design.
- Work with estimators to ensure costs are captured and project budgets are met.
- Have strong knowledge of the clients' master specifications and standards yet use our change process to improve those standards and drive innovative solutions.
- Manage performance of the Design Builder's Architectural and Engineering / Owners Design Consultant vendor for Mechanical and Process Mechanical deliverables.
- They will also lead inter-discipline coordination efforts and collaborate closely with other disciplines to ensure delivery of a complete, approved, and coordinated scope across a project.
- They will ensure that work is being performed code compliant and to Client's Policies and Expectations, e.g., Client Master Design Specs (IMDS) and Client Master Construction Specs (IMCS).
- Responsible for delivering construction projects globally using multiple project delivery and execution strategies at a competitive advantage.
- Develops discipline scope and engineering solutions which include schedule, budget, and safety requirements for assigned construction projects.
- Leads interdisciplinary coordination efforts and collaborates closely with other disciplines to ensure delivery of a complete, approved, coordinated scope across a project.
- Interfaces and coordinates with Design, Construction, and internal Client organizations to enable facility design efforts for area of expertise.
- Providing input on design reviews, constructability, contractor performance and coordination with construction resources to manage discipline schedule and budget.
- Ensures accuracy of estimating tied to scope of work and linkage to project schedules.
- Manages the budget, forecasts trades resources, resolves resource conflicts, and coordinates trades mobilization. As required, engages in contract and legal negotiations, incident investigation, safety training, and project assessment.
Activities will include:
- Definition of design criteria, scope definition and justification, development of design concepts, completion of positioning, programming, and detailed design, influencing design standards, construction specifications, and operations requirements.
- It will also include development of project budgets, schedules, and safety requirements and performing conceptual I&C engineering analysis for multiple scenarios that can include high level schedule and/or budget development to help customers and stakeholders make critical business decisions based on time and cost constraints. Proficiency with reading and interpreting construction contract documents is a must have.
What will you contribute?
- Candidate must have Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering or other related field with 4+ years of experience in the following:
- Design and construction of process systems.
- Production facilities or industrial / manufacturing plants.
- Knowledge, understanding, and interpretation of engineering documentation (P and IDs, Sequence of Operations, Engineering Specifications and Design Standards).
- PLC-based control system architecture, especially Rockwell Automation / Allen-Bradley and Siemens PCS 7.
- Instrumentation such as Flowmeters or pressure transmitters or control valves.
- Written, visual and verbal communication skills of technical topics.
- Skills to presenting to executive management.
- General facilities, technical expertise, and willingness to lead and provide direction to technical teams.
- Skills to collaborate across engineering discipline, organization, and geographic boundaries.
- Team and quality-oriented skills.
- Value for safety and a safe project environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with ATEX and EPD requirements.
- Professional Engineering License.
- Knowledge /understanding of control methods for process systems.
