The Buildings and Facilities group in Toronto provide mechanical and electrical design for all types of buildings in the commercial, institutional, and recreational market. Our clients and projects are varied and diverse.  The office is a high energy workspace where we work closely as a team to meet the requirements and deadlines for our clients.

We are looking for an Intermediate Mechanical Designer to join our growing team in North York, Ontario.

Your role within the team

  • Independent design of small and medium projects and portions of larger complex projects.
  • Prepare mechanical specifications, site take-offs, attend & co-ordination of meetings.
  • Obtain information from equipment suppliers and incorporate in designs and specifications.
  • Co-ordinate with Utilities and Municipalities regarding incoming services.
  • Assist in drafting in AutoCAD on as needed basis as well as Revit modelling, independent review of shop drawings.
  • Provide technical directions to junior designers and CAD operators.
  • Dealing issues with Contractor’s during construction.

The ideal candidate 

  • University degree in Mechanical Engineering or Technology Diploma from a registered college. Registered as Professional Engineer (P.Eng or CET designation is an asset.
  • Minimum of 5 year’s experience in buildings design of HVAC, Plumbing, Drainage and Fire Protection.
  • Working knowledge of all applicable building codes and industry standards.
  • Extensive computer skills in Word, Excel, Acrobat, AUTOCAD (REVIT and other design tools an asset).
  • Effective communication and inter-personal skills, ability to work in a team environment & working on multiple projects.
