AtkinsRéalis is looking for an Advisor, Internal Communications supporting the Canadian Nuclear sector. The Role is a Permanent position based at 2251 Speakman Drive in Mississauga, ON with an expectation of working in the office 2 to 3 days a week.

In this role you will be part of our global network of professional communication experts. You will work in a Matrix organization that is a transformative, collaborative, and fast-paced environment, supporting your peers in delivering integrated internal communications plans and tactics.

Part of our Canadian internal communications Centre of expertise, the successful candidate will report to the Manager, Internal Communications, Canada, and collaborate on the day-to-day deliverables with the business partner, VP, Nuclear Communications. 

This role will support a quickly growing Nuclear Canada business and will also support internal communications for the global nuclear sector.

The successful candidate will deliver for internal stakeholders across all aspects of the communications mix.

This includes providing counsel, developing plans, creating tailored messaging, and executing tactical activities, including managing a local Intranet. An important part of the role includes drafting well written and engaging communications, to inform employees and various stakeholders of important company messages and newsworthy topics. You will also help to ensure that communications are delivered in line with AtkinsRéalis policies and reflect industry best practices.

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated and creative, team player with an interest in learning more about the business. This candidate will be open to trying new approaches to achieve results. This role is best suited for someone who could build positive working relationships, that can adapt to a changing environment.

The candidate must have excellent verbal and written English communications skills and be comfortable dealing with a diverse range of people at all levels of seniority. The ideal candidate also has a certain experience working in a unionized environment.

Location – Mississauga, ON.

Your role within the team:

• Work collaboratively as part of a global and local team of internal communication advisors.
• Advise stakeholders on internal communications best practices and work collaboratively with business stakeholders to develop, deliver and measure internal communications strategies, campaigns, and plans.
• Work effectively with colleagues to draft, revise, and edit a variety of communication tools intended for various internal audiences.
• Develop and coordinate the publication and delivery of digital and print communications, including articles, email content, videos, webcasts, etc.
• Manage content for a local intranet and an internal digital signage platform.
• Coordinate internal events.
• Ensure that practices, procedures, and tools are used effectively so that the objectives set out in the business plan are attained.
• Flexibility and nimbleness to adapt to changing business requirements.
• Support other communications as needed.

The ideal candidate:

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, Literature, Journalism, or a related field.
• 5 to 6 years of pertinent experience in corporate communications.
• Experience in internal communications and/or employee engagement, ideally gained within a large matrix organization; nuclear industry experiences an asset.
• Experience in delivering internal communication strategies, campaigns and plans which achieve desired business outcomes.
• Excellent English writing skills and ability to convey complex topics in simple language to multiple audiences.
• Experience in sourcing and creating content for a range of online and offline channels.
• Experience in advising others on internal communications best practices.
• Able to build effective working relationships within the business and with Communications colleagues and leadership team.
• High energy, with the drive and enthusiasm to meet fixed targets.
• Highly organized and able to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Able to cope with ambiguity and manage stakeholders during periods of change.
• Knowledge of the markets/industries that the organization operates in.
• Knowledge of French, an asset.
