We are seeking an ITS Analyst to join our ITS CEI team in Jacksonville or Lake City, FL.

Under supervision, applies knowledge of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) technology to the investigation of transportation planning, engineering and operational needs and problems, the coordination of ITS project activities, and the preparation of preliminary plans and documents. Carries out job functions within small, project-oriented, multidisciplinary teams of ITS professionals and supports direct interaction with clients within the context of project progress meetings, design reviews, operations, and project production and delivery. Major results expected include observation of activities at construction projects to determine adherence to contract documents and regulatory agency provisions. NOTE: Incumbents do not supervise any contractors' activities and are not responsible for job site safety.

How will you contribute to the team?

• Assignments have clear and specified objectives and require the investigation of a defined number of variables. Duties usually include the following:
• Applies general ITS planning, operational, and engineering principles to solve specific ITS-related problems.
• Provides ITS Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) and technical support services
• Assists in the field oversight and installation of ITS systems infrastructure, including requirements analysis, technology review and selection, development and communication of operational concepts, specifications implementation, and testing.
• With client and third-party personnel review project schedules, standards and/or specifications.
• Researches feasibility of alternative approaches, technology capabilities, previous experiences with ITS deployments, cost benefits, and client/regulatory agency specifications.
• Writes reports, participates in presentations, discusses concepts and deliverables with clients, and participates in quality-control checks.
• Performs other such duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary

What will you contribute?

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, or an ITS-related subject such as Transportation Planning, or Information Technology plus 2 years related experience. 
• Knowledge and experience may also be achieved by High School graduate or equivalent plus four (4) years of experience in Traffic & ITS field support, two (2) years of which shall have been in construction inspection.
• SPECIAL SKILLS
• Good analytical and communications skills essential, including ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and to understand contract plans and specifications. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook or equivalent e-mail program is desired, as well as the use of Internet and other information processing and storage techniques to support research of alternatives and the definition of design concepts, plus demonstrated knowledge in the following qualifications:

- Fiber Installation Inspection and OTDR Fiber Testing

- DMS Operation and Testing

- Controller Operation and Testing

- CCTV Installation, Operation and Testing

- MVDS Operations and Testing

- Functional capability working with Existing Communication Equipment and Switches

CERTIFICATIONS:

- Advance Maintenance of Traffic TTC/MOT

- Traffic Signal Inspector (or equivalent)

- IMSA Fiber Optic Association (FOA) Certified Fiber Optics Technician (or equivalent)

- Traffic Signal Field Technician Level II (or equivalent)

• General Competencies expected of all Professionals and Managers are as follows: Client Service, Commitment, Communication, Innovation & Continuous Improvement, Professionalism, Quality, and Teamwork.
• Ability to access and understand technology materials, ability to operate computer keyboard, and ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing. Ability to analyze data. 
• Ability to walk long distances, climb ladders, stoop, squat, and crawl down into ditches; ability to observe construction activities and distinguish colors; and ability to perceive back-up alarms and other warnings.
• Must be able to work outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions, subject to insects, flooded terrain, and equipment/traffic hazards.
• If position requires driving company vehicle, incumbent must have valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company policy.
