Atkins has been established in the Gulf for over 40 years, having first carried out design and supervision commissions in the Gulf area in 1967. The regional head office (Dubai) was established in 1979.
 
We provide a full range of design, engineering and project management services for buildings, transportation and other infrastructure programmes.
 
Atkins in the Middle East now employs around 2,000 staff serving Gulf clients across all market sectors from offices in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Doha, Dubai, Jeddah, Kuwait City, Manama, Muscat, Riyadh, and Sharjah.
 
We are currently are looking for a Landscape Architect with a minimum of 10 years relevant experience to join our infrastructure team in Qatar
 
Responsibilities: 
  • Liaise with clients to identify and define requirements, scope and objectives;
  • Assign tasks to internal teams and assist with schedule management;
  • Make sure that clients’ needs are met as projects evolve;
  • Organise presentations of designs to the client;
  • Preparation and maintenance of programme for design review and ensuring its implementation;
  • Financial awareness and management of the design;
  • Identify and manage project specific risks;
  • Set out / agree design standards and parameters;
  • Monitoring quality of the work;
  • Preparation of design changes;
  • Appointment and management of all required sub-consultants or other services;
  • Technical co-ordination with discipline heads and subordinates;
  • business acumen and able to develop commercial strategies.


Requirements:
  • Degree qualified and preferably with a professional affiliation (or eligible for membership), candidates will ideally have minimum 10 years relevant working experience in Landscape Architecture Design, documentation and site implementation
  • Candidates registered with the MMUP in Qatar as a Grade A Architect is preferred
  • Familiarity with the Gulf Region plant species and other soft-scape features is a must;
  • Stay up-to-date on industry developments;
  • Solid organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management;
  • Strong client-facing and teamwork skills;
  • Will be capable of working on their own or within/ assisting leading a team of like discipline individuals and creating designs relevant to Middle East environment;
  • Computer literacy and excellent communication skills are essential.
Technical Competencies:
  • Degree qualified (from recognised Tertiary Institution);
  • Experience and ability in design team leadership;
  • Must be familiar with design, tender and construction processes;
  • Good working knowledge of the following software - AutoCAD, Sketch Up, Adobe Photoshop, MSOffice;
  • Freehand drawing and perspective skills an advantage;
  • Creative ability and design flare, suitable for a range of landscape and planning projects;
  • Behavioural Competencies;
  • Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English essential;
  • Able to make decisions, act on own initiative and operate in a proactive way.
