Lead Advanced Structural Analysis Engineer, Denmark (Esbjerg, Aarhus, Copenhagen).
The Team
Within our Engineering and Consulting (E&C) UK & Europe business, the Esbjerg operation is an important part of the link into the Danish offshore sector and clients, and an important part of growth and diversification plans within mainland Europe.  The team is currently a multi-discipline team supporting Oil & Gas and Wind Energy clients in engineering consultancy, modifications and upgrades.  The Esbjerg operation also acts as a conduit for specialist work that is carried out by other parts of the Energy business, and draws in resources from this wider business to execute work locally.Our multidisciplinary team carries out many projects that involve interaction across disciplines and there are great opportunities to interact with the rest of the E&C business in the UK and across the globe. The global team comprises vast experience in structural engineering, where we have been involved with the design, assessment and modification of over 1000 oil and gas installations, full design of 14 windfarm substations and 200 wind-turbine foundations around the world. We are the operator’s ‘go to’ company for difficult challenges from life extension to innovative new design.
The Role
As we make progress with our Energy mission to make a difference by improving lives through safer, cleaner, smarter energy we are seeking an enthusiastic Senior Structural engineer. As part of our structural team there will be great opportunities to develop technical skills and supervision capabilities in the offshore industries and to be involved in delivering successful projects to our clients, where we are striving to meet the constantly evolving needs of the energy sector.As a member of the team, you will be responsible for the technical delivery of advanced structural analyses work packages. You will contribute to plan the analyses activities, ensure the quality and present your work to clients through reports and presentations.The Structural team is placed in Esbjerg, but the Lead Analyst can be located at other Atkins offices across Denmark. 


The Person
You will be able to build and develop relationships internally and externally, through good verbal and written communication.  You will be pro-active and oriented to problem-solving.
The ideal candidate will be excited to be involved in:• Team-work, within multi-discipline international projects, liaising with the lead engineer, engineers and draftsmen.• Design and re-assessment of steel offshore structures (topsides and jackets of fixed platforms) to relevant codes and standards.• Leading and checking linear and non-linear structural analyses using advanced software, such as:o Fatigue, Ultimate and Accidental Limit States analyseso Application of environmental and topsides loadingo Installation studies• Leading and checking the preparation of analyses deliverables.• Assisting the lead engineer with analyses/design input.
The following qualifications are mandatory:• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical or Naval Engineering.• Minimum five years of experience as structural engineer in offshore Oil &Gas or Wind Energy, encompassing detailed design and advanced analyses.• Practical experience with a structural software package (e.g. ROSAP, SACS, SESAM, USFOS, STAAD, ABAQUS).
