Lead Testing and Commissioning Engineer

AtkinsRealis are currently looking for a Lead Testing and Commissioning Engineer in Dammam, KSA to lead the team which forms part of a project team (circa 100 people) in Qatar. This person must be forward thinking, experienced in running large, multi-disciplined teams and relish the challenge of developing a rapidly expanding infrastructure portfolio in a demanding environment with a client who, although conscious of cost, wants to make step change towards professional project management, bench marked to world class standards.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Preparing Commissioning Test Procedures, Method Statements and P&ID Markups.

  • Responsible for commissioning of BOG Compressors, Emergency Diesel Generator, Air Compressors, Nitrogen Production Facility, Pumps, Fin Fan Coolers and Marine Loading Arms.

  • Participate in pre-Mechanical Completion walk down and punch listing activity on system basis.

  • Verify and review all necessary technical information, installation records, as built drawings.

  • Systems familiarization and review as defined in P&ID’s, process descriptions, plot plans and Vendor documents.

  • Perform vessel, column and piping internal inspections for final closure.

  • Carried out rectifications / troubleshooting of equipment’s during startup.

  • Perform Construction pre-commissioning air blowing, leak testing, lube oil flushing and provide guidance where necessary to achieve agreed criteria.

  • Perform the functional tests that are required to meet the agreed technical specifications.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering (preferably power biased),

  • Membership of Professional Engineering Institution (or progressing),

  • Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English, IELTS Certificate 6.5 or equivalent,

  • 15+ years knowledge of power distribution and transmission system design, power system analysis, protection systems/studies, underground cable routing/overhead lines, earthing, switchgear, transformers and substations,

  • 5 to 10 years experience in industrial and utility power schemes design/operation,

  • Co-ordination of infrastructure projects relating to power distribution within development projects,


 

Preferred Skills and Competencies

  • Knowledge of renewable energy generation schemes and integration within power distribution networks, Liaison with Utility authorities and industrial consumers on development of power distribution networks, Competence in using power system modelling software such as ERAC’s and AMTECH (Power Net), Understanding of British, American and International design standards,
