How will you contribute to the team

  • Providing input on design reviews, constructability, contractor performance and coordination with construction resources to manage discipline schedule and budget.
  • Ensures accuracy of estimating tied to scope of work and linkage to project schedules.
  • Manages the budget, forecasts trades resources, resolves resource conflicts, and coordinates trades mobilization. As required, engages in contract and legal negotiations, incident investigation, safety training, and project assessment.
  • Prepare engineering assessments and provide technical operations direction on construction designs as well as drive engineering solutions to address and rectify issues and manage long term equipment improvement initiatives.
  • Establishes and submits process requirements to be met when designing and acquiring LSS equipment.
  • Managing system capacity, reliability and uptime as well as all documentation required to safely operate our LSS system.
  • This position includes design and construction support for Fire/Evacuation, Early Warning Smoke Detection, Liquid Leak Detection, Tool Annunciation System (TAS), and Hazardous Production Material (HPM) alarm systems and detection equipment.
  • PLC programming and troubleshooting for the HPM and TAS system and associated I/O point management, implementing, tracking and managing continuous improvement projects.
  • Role model safety practices at all times.
  • Manage performance of the Design Builder's Architectural and Engineering / Owners Design Consultant vendor for Mechanical and Process Mechanical deliverables.
  • They will also lead inter-discipline coordination efforts and collaborate closely with other disciplines to ensure delivery of a complete, approved, and coordinated scope across a project.
  • They will ensure that work is being performed code compliant and to Client’s Policies and Expectations, e.g, Client Master Design Specs (IMDS) and Client Master Construction Specs (IMCS).
  • Responsible for delivering construction projects globally using multiple project delivery and execution strategies at a competitive advantage.
  • Develops discipline scope and engineering solutions which include schedule, budget, and safety requirements for assigned construction projects.
  • Leads interdisciplinary coordination efforts and collaborates closely with other disciplines to ensure delivery of a complete, approved, coordinated scope across a project.
  • Interfaces and coordinates with Design, Construction, and internal Client organizations to enable facility design efforts for area of expertise.

Activities will include:

  • Definition of design criteria, scope definition and justification, development of design concepts, completion of positioning, programming, and detailed design, influencing design standards, construction specifications, and operations requirements.
  • It will also include development of project budgets, schedules, and safety requirements and performing conceptual LSS engineering analysis for multiple scenarios that can include high level schedule and/or budget development to help customers and stakeholders make critical business decisions based on time and cost constraints. Proficiency with reading and interpreting construction contract documents is a must have.

What will you contribute?

  • You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.
  • The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Systems, and Controls or Computer Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or Computer Science or other equivalent engineering degrees with 4+ years of experience or a Master's degree in the above mention fields with 2+ years of experience.
  • Experience should be in:
  • Relevant building code or a regulatory requirement such as National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Applied knowledge of Instrument and Control (I&C) and Life Safety Systems or Building Monitoring System (BMS) design techniques, tools, and principals involved in the production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
  • Programming Allen Bradley PLC, Rockwell automation RSview or Cimplicity.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of practical experience with scripting, high-level computer languages, servers, operating systems, databases, and networking.
  • 2+ years of experience designing instrumentation for life safety system
  • 1+ year of Hands-on experience working with databases.
  • 1+ year of experience in Hardware and software programming knowledge of PLC's.
  • 1+ year of experience of IT/SCADA networks.
  • 1+ year of experience in controls systems. Experience can be obtained via coursework and/or internship.
  • 1+ year of experience of standard industrial Mechanical, Electrical and Process (MEP) systems to be able to interact, plan and coordinate the activities of MEP engineers and technicians in support of troubleshooting and/or integrating control changes to their system to achieve the required results.
  • 1+ year of experience developing, designing, testing, and commissioning new control systems. Skills to develop instrumentation installation drawings, data sheets, P&ID drawings for control systems and PLC\SCADA interface systems in full compliance with recognized industry standards, safety standards, and client specifications.
