Light Rail Vehicle (LRV) Technical Contract Lead 

This role encompasses overseeing the design process and managing the technical team, as well as implementing commercial and project management variations.

Location: Calgary, AB.

Your role within the team:

  • Project Management: Overseeing the technical aspects of LRV contracts, ensuring that all project milestones and deliverables are met on time and within budget.
  • Technical Expertise: Providing in-depth technical knowledge and support for LRV systems, including design, manufacturing, testing, and commissioning.
  • Contract Negotiation: Leading negotiations for major LRV commodities, vehicle/component purchases, and rebuild programs. This includes administering warranty programs for LRV components
  • Collaboration: Working closely with various stakeholders, including engineers, suppliers, and government agencies, to ensure the successful delivery of the LRT project.
  • Compliance and Standards: Ensuring all LRV systems comply with relevant safety and quality standards, as well as local and national regulations.
  • Budget Management: Developing maintenance costing information to support operating and capital budget planning

The ideal candidate:

  • A bachelor's degree in engineering, preferably in electrical, mechanical, or civil engineering. Advanced degrees or certifications in project management can be advantageous.
  • Several years of experience in the rail industry, particularly with light rail vehicles and transit systems. Experience in project management and contract administration is crucial.
  • Strong skills in managing large-scale projects, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation. Certification such as PMP (Project Management Professional) can be beneficial.
  • In-depth knowledge of LRV systems, including design, manufacturing, testing, and commissioning. Familiarity with relevant safety and quality standards is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with various stakeholders and leading contract negotiations.
  • Understanding of local and national regulations related to transit systems and public transportation
