Within the oil and gas division, our operations focus on fixed and floating offshore structures, terminals, refineries, petrochemical plants and subsea pipelines. Having worked on thousands of oil and gas installations around the world, you’ll join a team of over 20,000 experts located in North America, Australia, the Middle East, Europe and the UK. We work across the life cycle of the oil and gas industry, finding innovative solutions to complex challenges through the increased use of digital and immersive technologies, and have worked on over 700 projects in the last five years all around the world. We have provided unrivalled technical expertise and support to the oil and gas industry for more than four decades. Our highly skilled teams are leading technical developments across the globe and, with our input, problems are solved and critical decisions are made with confidence.


What you’ll be doing and where you’ll be based
We have opportunities for undergraduates across a range of our Oil & Gas and Offshore Wind teams in the UK. From a Civil or Structural Engineering background, you could be working in one of the following teams, here’s a little about what they do:

Aberdeen – summer placement available
Based here as a student civil or structural engineer you could be involved in working with North Sea operators in supporting them in their brownfield modification projects and/or operational support work in their daily production. This is a dynamic environment ensuring that code requirements, production efficiency and safe operations are maintained using innovative approaches to assets which, in some cases are 40 years old, operating efficiently and safely pushing your knowledge and capability to the full extent.

Bristol – summer and year in industry placements available
Here we’re engaged in a broad range of projects and while our operations focus on fixed and floating offshore structures we also have the adaptability to support the nuclear energy market. Your role will include structural engineering, analysis and design of new offshore fixed and floating structures; structural integrity of offshore structures and process plant; and assisting in the assessment of fatigue and reliability of structures. You’ll also be involved in multi-disciplinary design projects across Energy sectors. By joining Bristol, you'll become part of a global team located in North America, Australia, the Middle East, Europe and the UK.

Epsom – summer and year in industry placements available
Based in Epsom within the Offshore Structural Engineer team you will be working on concept, FEED and detailed design of major offshore assets together with developing innovative solutions for repair and upgrades. Responsibilities include conducting structural engineering, analysis and design work, completion and delivery of engineering consultancy work for all types of offshore fixed structures, ensuring the provision of efficient high quality structural engineering, contributions to proposals, tenders, business and marketing plans and meeting cost and time targets to deliver high quality consultancy services to oil and gas industry clients.

Who we’re looking for
You’ll:
• be a talented undergraduate on track to achieve a 2.2 Master’s/MEng degree or higher in Civil or Structural engineering
• have ambition, vision, enthusiasm and the drive to keep on developing your technical skills
• possess a passion for working in a consultancy environment, you’ll want to work with clients and with teams who deliver to their clients
• be adaptable and happy to cope with uncertainty. Communication and team-working will be your key skills as well as having the ability to apply your technical knowledge to analyse problems and create innovative solutions.
