We are seeking an Operations Specialist Energy, to join the team in our Richland, WA office.

How will you contribute to the team?  

  • Initiates and processes immediate procedure changes and standard procedure revisions.

  • Initiates, develops and processes work control documents, lockout/tagouts and job hazard analysis.

  • Researches plant documents and prints and determines the safe isolation points to ensure workers are protected from hazardous energy while conducting maintenance.

  • Acts as a facilitator during discussions with subject matter experts regarding the hazards associated with a job and the controls necessary to perform the work safely. Leads the group through a systematic analysis of the hazards involved with a particular job, and resolves any conflicts.

  • Assists Operations Manager and Operations Lead in the administrative tasks associated with managing non-exempt personnel.

  • Maintains data and documents contained in operations databases.

  • Develops operations documents to support shift operations.

  • Assists with facility notifications and administrative duties.

  • Maintains operations documents and essential drawings.

  • Produces various reports in support of shift operations.

  • Performs one or more of the following:

  • Assists the Engineering department in developing Operations drawings and graphics.

  • Develops and maintains metrics and tracking systems to status facility performance.

  • Acts as a Person-in-Charge (PIC) for LAWMAST assembly evolutions as assigned by Operations Management

  • Maintains compliance with requirements of safety documentation [including Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) in accordance with Conduct of Operations guidelines and approved procedures.

  • Oversees activities of support personnel to ensure compliance with ESH&Q and facility-specific requirements.

  • Identifies potential occurrences or upset/unusual conditions and reports them to the Operations Manager.

  • Collaborates with the Work Control Supervisor and all other disciplines to develop and implement appropriate work control packages for field implementation.

  • Ensures good housekeeping requirements are met.

  • Drafts procedural and policy documents for review by the Operations Manager.

  • Conducts process operations in accordance with approved programs, procedures, and As Low as Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) principles.

  • Supports facility operations and maintenance activities.

  • Performs walkdowns, validations for new processes and procedures.

  • Labels system components by procedure guidelines.

  • Operates manlifts, forklifts, bridge crane and handles rigging operations.

  • Operates company motor vehicles in accordance with established policy guidelines.

  • Supports the execution of Integrated Safety Management System (ISMS) guiding principles and core functions and the Atkins Safety Culture.

  • Performs other duties as required.

What will you contribute?  

  • Associates degree or equivalent experience.

  • Experience with work control documents, lockout/tagouts and job hazard analysis.

  • Experience with technical writing/operations procedures.

  • A NCCCO License Preferred.

  • Trained and Certified in Hoisting and Rigging Operations.

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in area of associated certification.

  • Ability to work independently while performing operations tasks.

  • Ability to assemble teams of subject matter experts to conduct Job Hazard Analysis.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Effective organizational and interpersonal skills.

  • Intermediate proficiency using Microsoft Office products.

  • Advanced proficiency in area of associated certifications.

  • Ability to act as a PIC for assigned Operations tasks while demonstrating effective leadership skills.

  • Effective interpersonal skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to positively represent the company to the customer.

  • Ability to conceptually develop processes that meet/anticipate LAWMAST assembly conditions.

  • Ability to work with employees at all organizational levels.

  • Ability to manage and/or monitor multiple projects and activities occurring simultaneously.

  • Ability to read and understand existing and planned facility drawings, plans, schematics and specifications.

  • Detailed knowledge of operations machinery, equipment and tools.

  • Detailed knowledge of occupational hazards and the corresponding safety precautions necessary for the safe performance of tasks.

  • Must be a U.S citizen in order to be considered.

Expected compensation range is between $67,000 - $112,000 annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
