Permanent Way Senior Technician

The Central Rail Systems Alliance is formed by partners Network Rail, Balfour Beatty, Atkins and TSO. The CRSA is responsible for the delivery of multi-disciplinary railway upgrade projects on the North West & Central and Eastern regions of Network Rail’s recently devolved routes. The programme of works delivered by the teams is valued at £2bn and manages the development, design and delivery of Switches and Crossings and Plain Line renewals as its core business but is also responsible for the delivery of major enhancement projects.

We are looking to recruit a Permanent Way Senior Technician to join the North West and Central Permanent Way team within Central Rail Systems Alliance team.

Essential Criteria:

• Working knowledge of UK rail industry standards, policies and procedures;
• A willingness to work flexibly to deliver projects to time and budget.
• Highly proficient CAD operator, focusing on the use of microstation.
• Ambition to develop aligned to CRSA targets and principles.
• Self-motivated and able to work as an effective part of a high functioning design team.
• Ideally successfully achieved or preparing for EngTech with a relevant Institution, and actively undertaking CPD.

Desirable Attributes:

• Experience of 3D and 4D design packages.
• Experience in PWay specific design tools including BRT.
• Experience of undertaking Permanent Way S&C design schemes.
• Conversant with Gauging Software and process.
• Experience of site survey works.
