Roads and Highways Intern - Summer 2025

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Roads & Highways Intern to join our Denver, CO office.

Our Internship Program, Explore, is designed for college students pursuing a degree in a STEM field and provides opportunities to learn what it’s like to work in a professional environment and apply what’s learned in class to the real-world challenges we face every day.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist in performing routine engineering work on track to develop professional proficiency
• Assist in conveyance of design intent through engineering plans/docs for construction
• Assist in the compilation of design data and the preparation of construction plans/docs

QUALIFICATIONS

• EXPERIENCE: No experience is generally required with the applicable college courses or equivalent training, or if accepted into an Associate's or Bachelor's degree program in a related technical field.

• EDUCATION: Must have completed 28 hours towards a civil engineering degree from an ABET accredited program by the start of the internship (Summer 2025).

• SPECIAL SKILLS:
  • Self-motivated and willingness to learn
  • Goal and deadline oriented
  • Must have good computer skills
  • Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation (preferred)
  • Interest in transportation, infrastructure improvements and servicing our communities

Expected compensation range is between $25-$31 hourly depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
