The role and responsibilities of the position will cover the following key aspects:

Job Summary: The Resident Electrical Engineer provides on-site engineering support for electrical systems during construction or renovation projects. This role involves ensuring that electrical installations meet design specifications and regulatory standards, troubleshooting issues, and coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure the successful completion of the project.

Key Responsibilities:

On-Site Supervision:

• Oversee electrical installations and ensure they are carried out according to TRANSCO design specifications and construction drawings.

• Supervise and coordinate the work of electrical contractors and subcontractors on-site.

• Inspect electrical work regularly to ensure quality and adherence to project requirements.

Design and Compliance:

• Review and verify electrical design drawings inline with ADNOC/TRANSCO specifications applicable for the HVADC contract to ensure they are correctly implemented on-site.

• Ensure that all electrical work complies with local codes, standards, and regulations.

• Collaborate with design engineers to address any discrepancies or issues that arise during construction.

Testing and Inspection:

• Conduct inspections and tests of electrical systems and components to verify their proper installation and functionality.

• Identify and troubleshoot electrical issues, providing solutions to rectify problems promptly.

• Ensure all testing and commissioning procedures are documented and compliant with project requirements.

Coordination and Communication:

• Act as the primary point of contact for all electrical engineering issues on-site.

• Communicate effectively with project managers, architects, contractors, and other stakeholders.

• Prepare and present reports on electrical work progress, issues, and solutions to project stakeholders.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain detailed records of electrical work, including changes to design, site conditions, and installation progress.

• Prepare and submit progress reports, inspection reports, and documentation for compliance purposes.

• Review and approve electrical shop drawings, submittals, and material certifications.

Safety and Quality Assurance:

• Enforce safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel.

• Conduct safety audits and ensure all electrical work complies with safety regulations and standards.

• Implement quality control measures to ensure high standards of electrical workmanship.

Project Support:

• Assist in resolving technical issues and providing engineering solutions as required.

• Support project scheduling and resource management related to electrical work.

• Participate in project meetings and contribute to project planning and execution strategies.

Requirements:

Educational Background:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.

• Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred or in progress.

Experience:

• Min 10 years of experience as an Electrical Engineer, with specific experience in construction or site-based roles preferred.

• Experience in residential, commercial, or industrial electrical projects is beneficial.

Skills:

• Strong understanding of electrical systems, codes, and standards.

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical blueprints and schematics.

• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

• Strong organizational and time-management abilities.

• Effective communication skills to interact with project teams and stakeholders.

Certifications:

• Certification in Electrical Engineering (e.g., EIT, PE) preferred.

Other Requirements:

• Ability to work on-site and handle physically demanding tasks.

• Willingness to travel to different project sites as needed.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
