Roadway Civil Engineering Intern - Summer 2025

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Roadway Civil Engineering Intern to join our Atlanta, GA office.

Our Internship Program, Explore, is designed for college students pursuing a degree in a STEM field and provides opportunities to learn what it’s like to work in a professional environment and apply what’s learned in class to the real-world challenges we face every day.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with and complete design related assignments.
• Assist with and develop plans and drawings, which may include the development of functional, preliminary, Right of Way and final design packages.
• Assist with the preparation of construction cost estimates.
• Participates in quality control checks, maintaining quality standards in all work produced, checking computations, and/or reviewing designs, drawings and calculations developed by others.
• Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.
• Must have good computer skills and be able to utilize standard office software.

QUALIFICATIONS

• EXPERIENCE: No experience is generally required if accepted into an Associate's or Bachelor's degree program in a related technical field.
• EDUCATION: Must have completed 60 hours towards a civil engineering degree from an ABET accredited program by the start of the internship (Summer 2025).
• SPECIAL SKILLS: Math skills to perform simple calculations; willingness to learn.  Basic computer skills required to enter data into spreadsheets or databases.  Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation (preferred)
