Candu Energy Inc./ AtkinsRéalis Nuclear Inc. is actively seeking qualified Senior Civil Designer/Modeler to support engineering roles for nuclear projects in major areas, such as, new build in the province of Ontario, international new builds, refurbishment and continuous plant operation support modifications for nuclear power plants.
Your role within the team:
Position requires working on fast paced technically complex projects in the Nuclear industries. Typical duties and essential functions will include but not be limited to the preparation, design, modification, coordination, and/or review of the following:
- Prepare electronic documents in AutoCAD and/or Microstation;
- Sketching, and three-dimensional computer modeling;
- Prepare 3D Model in Revit, SolidWorks or Tekla
- Follow client driven file management system for document storage.
- Coordinate “As Built” changes with client.
- Prepare engineering deliverables for both nuclear and conventional systems in accordance with AtkinsRéalis Nuclear Inc. / Candu Energy Quality Assurance Programs and project requirements;
- Adhere to all drawing procedures and document control standards.
- Apply relevant Codes & Standards and regulatory requirements and coordinate with design team to ensure the compliances;
- Interface with Engineering teams, throughout the lifecycle of the design project (i.e., from preliminary and conceptual engineering to detailed design, implementation and close-out) to provide practical and effective solutions as per requirements;
- Attend site visits and technical meetings as required;
- Must be “Team” oriented with a demonstrated ability to work well with other and promote a positive work environment.

What will you contribute?
- Minimum ten years’ experience in civil/structural design and drafting
- Working knowledge in AutoCad, Micro Station and SolidWorks
- Formal training in AutoCAD and/or Micro station
- Efficient in preparation of 2D CAD drawings
- Ability to take marked up engineering drawings and incorporates changes into AutoCAD files
- Formal training in Solid works/Tekla
- Microsoft Excel and Word
- Must be able to demonstrate effective organizational skills working
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with staff in a team environment as well as independently
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills are mandatory
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Flexible schedule may be necessary as workload dictates;
- Travel to client sites required.
