Your role within the team:

• The position of Student - Reactor Components Mechanical Engineering will be a contributing role to assist engineers, technical leads and manager within the CANDU 6 reactor retube engineering team.
• The successful candidate will join a mature team of engineering personnel and will be assigned tasks in the areas of engineering, engineering administration and/or project administration.
• The employee will be required to obtain security clearance for Candu Energy Inc. facilities.
• The employee will be expected to perform tasks and activities commensurate with their level of experience and familiarity with the technology, while supervised by more senior engineering staff. 

Responsibilities will include activities such as:

• Assisting the team in the execution of design engineering activities related to the refurbishment of currently operating CANDU 6 reactors. 
• Supporting the execution of mechanical engineering work such technical document preparation, engineering calculations, engineering support to nuclear component procurement, perform technical calculation verifications and review work performed by others.
• Supporting with minor document revisions, including learning to navigate the various administrative systems.
• Organizing, hosting, minuting regular engineering and/or customer meetings in support of senior staff.
• Performing any other administrative or analytical review or investigation as directed.
• Self-study of the required quality procedures required to perform typical engineering and/or project administration tasks.
