Atkins Global Design Center (GDC), India is looking for experienced Structural Engineer with Building Design background to  work on some of the most exciting projects.

Responsibilities: 

• Lead a structural engineering practice group recognized for designing complex structural solutions for clients in the built and natural environments.

• Provide line management to Practice Managers and Technical Directors.

• Drive technical best practice, knowledge sharing and process standardization / optimization across practice group

• Responsible for winning work through maximizing additional/repeat/follow-on work from clients

• Work with Divisional Technical Director to drive collaboration across markets and divisions

• Liaise through the Practice Director with the Market Directors to establish resource demand based on pipeline of opportunities in collaboration with divisional resource managers

• Ensure skills and capacity meet the needs of the target markets through targeted recruitment and focused staff development

• Identify where skills are not available in-house and work with external alliance partners and subcontractors to deliver project needs

• Motivate managers and team members ensuring they are challenged, stretched and developed with succession plans in place.

• Have a recognized degree in Structural Engineering.

• Minimum of 18 years professional experience with past Middle East Experience preferred.

• Chartered Structural Engineer (IStructE or equivalent).

• Developed technical knowledge of Structural Engineering of Building-Type Projects, with particular reference to Structural Steelwork, Structural Concrete and associated Structural Analysis

• Working knowledge of relevant structural design software including but not limited to ETABS, Safe, Staad Pro, Robot, Strand 7, Prokon.

• Design/Detailing Software Proven experience in the development of structural concepts and schemes for various building typologies and forms.

• Proven track record in leading teams of people.

• Technical knowledge and experience of European/US-based design codes/standards and Statutory Regulations.

• Experience in collaborative working and coordination within the team, internal Atkins disciplines and external consultants and clients.

• Confidence to work within multi-disciplinary design environments.

• Excellent planning, time management and communication skills.

• Culturally sensitive with experience in operating in a multicultural environment.

• Develops/nurtures relationships across businesses.

• Has the client at the forefront of thinking.

• Responds well when there is a clear need to support the success of other parts of the business.
