Traffic Incident Management Intern

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Traffic Incident Management Intern to join our Atlanta, GA office.

Our Internship Program, Explore, is designed for college students pursuing a degree in a STEM field and provides opportunities to learn what it’s like to work in a professional environment and apply what’s learned in class to the real-world challenges we face every day.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Participates in National Traffic Incident Management (TIM) Responder Training and/or other first responder training.
• Assist in traffic and crash data collection, analysis, and reporting.
• Manage training records and documentation of TIM program.
• Uses crash data to identify high crash locations, and asses existing infrastructure to determine if engineering, signing, pavement markings, etc. could impact crash frequency.
• Communicates with local stakeholders.
• Prepare PowerPoint presentations.
• Assists with processing invoices and conducting traffic incident investigations.
• Supports TIM Specialist II personnel with regional duties when stationed resources are limited.
• Performs such assignments and duties as the Supervisor may deem necessary from time to time.
• Assist with inspections of heavy duty wreckers and associated crash response vehicles.

QUALIFICATIONS

• EXPERIENCE: 0-2 years work experience
• EDUCATION: Must have completed 30 hours towards criminal justice, public administration, or traffic engineering degree from an accredited college/university by the start of the internship (Summer 2025).
• SPECIAL SKILLS:
  • Basic computer skills required to enter data into spreadsheets or databases.
  • Math skills to perform simple calculations; willingness to learn.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
