SNC-Lavalin Atkins business seeks an energetic and highly motivated self-starter to join our team in Denver, CO as a Transportation Planning Manager.
The ideal candidate for this position has experience leading a team, is passionate about the transportation planning field, and has demonstrated technical and project management skills.
Atkins is looking for an experienced and talented individual to manage our Denver transportation planning team and to provide transportation planning related services. We are a growing practice working on a diverse range of high profile projects throughout Colorado and other states. We're looking for an individual to lead the transportation planning team, mentor staff, and help deliver projects for local, regional, and key national clients.
The successful candidate will provide leadership, direction, and technical guidance to staff, lead technical studies, manage projects and tasks, and contribute expertise in advanced concepts and techniques to solve unconventional problems. The individual will coordinate with other internal groups and subconsultants, coordinate with clients, and facilitate engagement with public and agency stakeholders. The individual also will participate in proposals and business development.
We have a strong forward-looking workload with major clients including the Colorado Department of Transportation, City and County of Denver, and the Federal Highway Administration. Our teams are currently delivering exciting and nationally important infrastructure projects, including roadways, toll facilities, transit, bike/ped projects, sustainable solutions, and transportation technology projects. They are developing new technical solutions to meet the challenges and opportunities provided by Intelligent Mobility.

- Staff administration – mentor and supervise staff, identify current and future staffing availability and needs, ensure staff compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Project management and production – Ensure appropriate staff allocation to projects. Manage own project and/or task-level scopes, schedules, and budgets and monitor team’s performance.
- Technical Excellence – Maintain industry visibility by actively participating in professional organizations and promote technical excellence in your team.
- Marketing and client maintenance – Participate as needed in project proposals, marketing, and client contact.
- Contracts and financial.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, planning, or related field.
- This level may be achieved by technical professionals or technical managers with 7 years of experience since B.S., with at least three of these years in positions with project management or supervisory responsibilities.
- Excellent technical and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to manage individuals and teams, provide leadership, and manage project production.
- Must have business vision, excellent communication skills, and be able to represent the
- firm effectively to clients, key public officials, and the community in general.
- Professional registration in field of practice is required, if available, e.g., P.E., A.I.C.P., R.A., or R.L.A
