King Abdullah Petroleum Studies and Research Center

The KAPSARC Research and Office Complex (ROC) is a visually stunning 65,000 square-metre facility, with a nearby residential campus incorporating an array of services and recreational facilities. The ROC, which has achieved LEED Platinum certification from the U.S. Green Building Council, integrates a variety of sustainable building techniques and advanced technologies, with a significant amount of its energy demand met by solar power.

A trusted consultant

As a leading facilities management firm with extensive experience in high-tech facilities, we were initially engaged by KAPSARC as consultants to work on several different managerial aspects, such as developing the strategic road map for facility management and developing the standard operating procedures for operating the center, as well as estimating operating budgets for the facilities management. Our responsibilities also included producing the pre-qualification criteria and RFP documents for all required services.

Total facilities management

We were hired as facilities management for a 10-year period. Our remit includes testing and commissioning, operations and maintenance, environmental management, energy management and community management. The sustainability aspects are of particular importance, as the facility is intended to be an inspiring example of exceptional design and performance.
