Job Title: Civil Engineering Specialis

What will you do?

  • Prepare detailed plan of civil construction based on priority identified by the customer and sitelead.
  • Develops scheduling of site activity in coordination with Team Leader site to execute the project.
  • Assist the site lead in taking over of land & other facilities from customer.
  • Ensure proper survey of land handed over by customer.
  • Verification of field quality document prepared by engineer in site.
  • Be responsible for safety risk assessment at site for smooth execution of civil activities.
  • Ensures detailed and up-to-date construction Health & Safety (H&S) plan is in place in respect of each work package, compliant with the LINXON H&S plan.
  • Ensures all on-site resources are properly trained on company health, safety and environment policy and proactively promotes health and safety considerations to project partners throughout the project.
  • Empowered to suspend any activities on site (be it by LINXON personnel or by subcontractors) in case of OHS violation and, if a situation arises, takes the necessary steps to ensure that LINXON employees and other persons who may be present are not put at risk.
  • Monitoring of civil work progress with sub-contractor on weekly basis.
  • Review of civil drawings and coordination with Sr. engineer installation for interface activity.
  • Coordination with Site Leads in highlighting issues related to engineering and drawings.
  • Helping and guiding the engineer in site for all civil work.
  • Be responsible for material planning for cement & steel based on inputs received from the project engineer in site.
  • Verification of sub-contractor’s invoices and timely invoicing to customer to maintain project cash flow
  • Provides inputs to site lead and project manager for any change/increase in scope of civil work.
  • Report the status of progress at site to the project manager.

Experience, Education and other Required:

  • With at least 7-10 years’ experience in civil construction (4-5 years’ experience as QS or Civil Engineer in railways, power projects or similar projects is an advantage).
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil, geodetic engineering or a related field and holder of a valid PRC license is preferred
  • Previous experience in site development and bored pile works is a critical requirement.
  • Previous experience of working on relevant infrastructure projects in the Middle East or Asia pacific regions is a plus.
  • Must have knowledge in Quantity Surveying, Engineering & Estimates, BOQ, BOM, and Project Scheduling.
     

Competencies/ Skills Required:

  • Familiarity with local, regional, and national regulations related to civil engineering and construction.
  • Familiar with Detail Engineering workflow.
  • Excellent in communication and collaboration, to interact with external and internal parties at all levels in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision and tight deadline, handle and find fulfilment in dynamic and heavy construction work environment.
  • Willingness to deliver ad hoc tasks as and when the site required
