Job Description – Safety and Systems Assurance Director (Canada)

Within Canada, our Rail, Transit & Mobility team has been selected to design and deliver most of the recent Greenfield and Brownfield LRT, ALRT and Light Metro jobs awarded in the last 15 years including the Canada Line, Calgary West LRT, Edmonton North LRT, the Evergreen Line and the Confederation Line. We are actively working on delivering the Trillium Line (Ottawa), Le Réseau Express Métropolitain (Montreal) and Eglinton-Crosstown (Toronto) as well as a number of other recent big wins.
Our Rail, Transit & Mobility engineering team deliver systems solutions that include alignment and track, traction power and distribution, signalling and train control, and communications. One of the key components of our systems delivery is the Safety and Systems Assurance, encompassing the activities required to manage Safety, V&V and more generally Systems Assurance of systems, sub-systems and components of a rail transit project. Our Safety and Systems Assurance sub-practice is looking for a Safety and Systems Assurance Director who will report to the Vice President of Rail, Transit & Mobility for Canada and will take over leadership of this successful team.
Location – Montreal, QC
Your role within the team:
- Leadership of approximately 25+ professionals in RAMS and V&V, located across Canada.
- Leadership of the implementation of Safety and Systems Assurances processes in accordance with MIL-STD/CENELEC/CMREA standards.
- Leadership of business development activities for the Safety and Systems Assurance team.
- Leadership of Safety and Systems Assurance inputs into technical and financial proposals.
- Leadership in the development of best practices and the development of team members.
- Leadership in setting up Safety and Systems Assurance processes on projects of varying size.
- Representing the Canadian Safety and Systems Assurance team in global initiatives.
We are looking for a candidate with a proven history of managing teams and delivering Safety and Systems Assurance processes.
The ideal candidate:
- Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology.
- Minimum of 10 to 15 years experience in the field of RAMS and Systems Assurance.
- Essential – Minimum 10 to 15 years’ experience of delivering complex multidisciplinary projects.
- Essential – Experience of managing teams of RAMS / Systems Assurance professionals.
- Essential – Experience of delivering railway projects to comply with MIL-STD/CENELEC standards.
- Essential – Experience of business development and writing tender proposals.
- Essential – Experience of developing budgets and schedules for large projects.
- Essential – Excellent written, presentation and communication skills.
- Essential – Attention to detail in delivering high quality work.
- Essential – Experience of working directly with client organizations or construction teams.
- Essential – Excellent networking and client relationship management skills; able to influence and manage key stakeholders and build trust and advocacy with clients.
- Essential – Excellent people management and interpersonal skills; able to engage staff and address difficult issue effectively and fairly.
Travel:
- Must be willing to travel to project sites.
- Must be willing to travel to vendor locations.
- Must be able to work away from home for periods of time.
Compensation:
Expected compensation for this role is (between Pay Range $143, 520 - $197,340 + Bonus annually).
Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.

Pour remplir ce rôle avec succès, la personne sera responsable, mais sans s'y limiter, de ce qui suit :
- Leadership d'environ 25+ professionnels en FDMS et V&V, situés à travers le Canada.

Qualifications:
Diplôme en génie ou de technologie du génie Minimum de 10 à 15 ans d'expérience dans le domaine de la FDMS et de l'assurance des systèmes
Voyager:
Doit être prêt à se déplacer sur les sites du projet Doit être prêt à se déplacer chez les fournisseurs Doit être capable de travailler loin de chez soi pendant un certain temps
Rémunération :
La rémunération attendue pour ce poste se situe entre 143 520 $ et 197 340 $ + bonus par an.
