Engineer II

AtkinsRéalis USA Inc. seeks Engineer II in Tampa, FL: Design and develop plans and drawings which may include preliminary layouts and/or final drawings; Develop schematic plans, PS&E, and exhibits; Attend progress and design meetings on projects, as required; Research feasibility of alternative design approaches to improve safety and mobility; Contribute to the development of specifications and miscellaneous reports; Coordinate with other disciplines (drainage, traffic, utilities, surveyors, bridge teams) to provide quality plans; Work on roadway design aspects including horizontal alignments, vertical profiles, and superelevation calculations; Develop templates to later assign to 3D corridor models which facilitate the visualization of the entire project and conflicts with right of way, utilities and drainage; Create cross-sections, earthwork reports, and estimates; Apply standard engineering practices and techniques in specific situations; Work in the planning, design, and production of engineering drawings; Conduct engineering investigations and plan work ahead to have a critical path and plan of action; and, Oversee the work of Engineer 1’s and provide comments and training for junior engineers.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Knowledge of: 3D-Corridor modelling; Roadway Plan and production; Preparation of detailed engineering designs for roadway and highway projects. (2D and 3D); Creating a roadway design that meets State DOT requirements; Enhancing traffic mobility and safety; Cost estimates and quantity calculations; Roadway drainage design; Industry software including AutoTURN, PowerGeopak SS10, and GoogleEarth Pro. National travel required up to 10% of the time for site visits and client meetings. May be assigned to unanticipated work locations throughout the United States. Remote working or telecommuting permitted in all U.S. States, in accordance with company policy.
