Responsibilities:

  • To lead MEP design for the UK Rail industry.
  • To carryout multi-D coordination and integrate the designs considering the buildability of the project.
  • Guide a team of Design Engineers to undertake electrical designs for the UK Rail projects.
  • Understand the scope of project, prepare man hour estimate, Technical Queries, RFIs and Change orders while working on projects.
  • Experience in carrying out Design Risk Assessments and clear understanding of CDM 2015 requirements.
  • Undertake design of LV Distribution, Earthing & Bonding, Lightning Risk Assessment and
  • Protection, Lighting and Cable management system.
  • Prepare Survey requirements and analyse the existing installation from survey reports/ photos etc
  • Develop design reports, technical notes and specifications
  • Carryout required checks/ reviews to verify that designs comply to recommended standards and adhere to the Quality Assurance Process.
  • Use MicroStation/AutoCAD/Revit, Trimble ProDesign, ETAP, Electrical OM and Microsoft Office suites for carrying out project tasks.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Degree in Electrical and Electronics engineering with 12-15 years of experience
  • Experience in leading MEP design for the UK/Middle East Rail and UK /Middle East Buildings in technical design environment
  • Knowledge and experience of using the BS7671, IEC,BS, NFPA,CIBSE,BSRIA, Building codes, London Underground and Network rail standards.
  • Shall have experience in authoring design reports, hazard logs, design logs, BOQs, RFI, TQs etc
  • Sound working knowledge of MicroStation /MEP Revit and experience to produce/ check/ review the designs and resolving multi-disciplinary clashes.
  • Working knowledge of Amtech (Trimble) ProDesign package, Electrical OM, ETAP and
  • Dialux/Dialux Evo lighting design packages.
  • Shall be a competent user of IT tools in particular Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
  • Good command in English Language and an effective communicator both in written and oral.
  • Good report writing skills, experience of making presentations and attending meetings with clients is essential.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Appropriate experience of working in Project Wise.
  • Experience in designing Points heating, Signalling power supply, Railway station.
  • buildings/platforms, Depot’s, Level crossing lighting, Junction lighting, Walkway lighting, etc.
  • Worked as design lead/ CRE/ deputy CRE in the UK Rail/ building Projects.
  • Working towards achieving CEng status from IET.
  • Experience of working in BIM environment and digital platform.
  • Willingness to learn new tools as per the project’s requirement.
