Job title: Head of Engineering UK

Location : Birmingham/London UK

Reports to: Operations Director UK

We combine AtkinsRéalis project management expertise and Hitachi Energy’s deep technological knowledge to create a company dedicated to substations – we are Linxon!

Are you an engineering leader, with experience in delivering complex engineering design solutions? If so, we have a fantastic opportunity to join our specialist engineering department here at Linxon. Working on some of the most exciting projects the UK Transmission and Distribution Industry has to offer, you’ll have direct line management responsibility for our UK based Engineers and work closely with our team of specialists in India.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Extensive and well-rounded experience in heading engineering teams.
  • Extensive substation engineering experience in utilities. Knowledge of required legislative demands and standards.
  • Expert knowledge in Substation design and engineering, Layouts, Primary design & calculations, Grounding & Lightning design, Steel design inputs, transformers, HV & MV Switchgear systems.
  • Familiar with system studies such as load flow, short circuit calculation, insulation coordination; Single Line Diagrams, CT/VT calculations, Auxiliary Power Systems, power cables.
  • Knowledge of secondary engineering, protection, and control system.
  • Experience in Installation & Commissioning is a plus.

QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s or bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or ability to demonstrate experience delivering complex projects in the transmission market.
