We have a vacancy for an experienced Project & Business Management Office Analyst (PBMO) to join our Project Delivery Practice based in Heathrow. This is an exciting opportunity for a PBMO Analyst to join a fast-paced environment as part of an expanding team managing the Project Controls across a range of successful portfolios, including IT in Construction, Cyber, Security, Project & Consulting and Service Support. The role is full time (40 hours) and will require an on-site presence Mon-Fri at our client site at Heathrow, usually within the core hours of 09.00 to 17.00.

We are seeking a candidate with a proven track record of working within a similar role and can demonstrate a high level of coordination, who can easily adapt to working on different work streams with changing priorities. We are looking for someone to join our team who is willing to work with us in achieving client delivery excellence.

Duties:

  • Overseeing the Project Lifecycle from Opportunity, Contract, Project Start up through to Project close down.
  • Ensuring delivery progress is recorded on a weekly and monthly basis and that Risks/ issues/ assumptions/ dependencies are tracked.
  • Embracing a culture of continuous improvement to identify and develop improvements to the Account and at a Project level.
  • Contributing to the creation and running of the Portfolio and project governance structure.
  • Reporting to the Client (Heathrow) and internally to Atkins on a monthly basis; financials, deliverables, risks & issues.
  • Utilising your Change experience to constructively challenge Project Managers on the project status, prognosis and risk profile.
  • Ensuring projects have the relevant documentation required.
  • Supporting PBMO team to maintain and track portfolio and project finances, including actual expenditure and future forecast against approved budget, highlighting any risks or opportunities that would require a Change Request.
  • Maintaining and tracking portfolio and project resources, including forecasting future resource requirements and insight in how to manage resource conflicts.
  • Writing of Work Packages and taking the contracts through the Stage Gate process approvals for bids.

Skills:

  • Skilled user across MS Excel (incl. macros and power query), Project, Word, Power BI, SharePoint and PowerPoint applications.
  • The ability to pose questions to colleagues in a collaborative and constructive manner.
  • Proven track record of working on own initiative, with the ability to introduce fresh thinking to the role and the wider team.
  • Ability to alter communication style and method for differing client interactions and personalities managing both team and client expectations effectively.
  • Strong planning skills and able to manage competing priorities, ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Experience within a PMO role and a background in providing PMO services is essential.
  • Experience of creating and managing the programme/portfolio performance reports against plan, financial performance, risk profile and resource supply and demand.
  • Excellent written communication with a proven track record in creating business and project reports, including for Executive consumption.
