JOB OVERVIEW

The Rolling Stock & Depot Equipment Manager is responsible for overseeing the O&M contractors performance relating to maintenance activities pertaining to Rolling Stock & Depot Equipment of the Riyadh Metro. The RS & DEQ Manager works within the Asset and Maintenance Department.

The Rolling Stock & Depot Equipment Manager will be based both in the office and at any of the seven Depots of the Riyadh Metro Project as the workload dictates.

The role is to ensure both Rolling Stock and Depot Equipment are maintained in accordance with the OEM’s guidelines & instructions which will be monitored through feedback from SME’s, physical audit and monitoring of the CMMS (Maximo).

Rolling Stock & Depot Equipment Manager will directly manage their SME’s and will be responsible for agreeing workload and Annual Leave.

Our client requires the person appointed to this role to have 10 years of Fleet Management experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Demonstrate understanding of the safety significance in the operation and maintenance of Rolling Stock & Depot Equipment in a railway environment and always place safety as the highest priority.
  • Review the O&M Contractors’ submissions for Rolling Stock & Depot Equipment, including asset and maintenance plans, procedures and instructions.
  • Support the coordination of the O&M Contractors with the Design & Build (D&B) Contractors with respect to Rolling Stock & Depot Equipment.
  • Liaise with O&M Depot staff regarding maintenance activities
  • Oversee and report on Rolling Stock & Depot Equipment maintenance delivery activities by O&M contractors; verify that it is being carried out safely and to the Employer’s satisfaction.
  • Advise on the Asset Management and Maintenance Strategy relating to Rolling Stock & Depot Equipment
  • Monitor, audit and report Key Performance Indicators (KPI) relating to Rolling Stock & Depot Equipment
  • Represent the Senior Asset Manager as required
  • Monitor Maintenance KPI’s for maintenance activities
  • Prepare reports for the Client as and when required Investigate any requests for Change to Processes and/ or Procedures
  • Perform other duties as directed, in support of the Asset & Maintenance Team and project.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree qualified in an Engineering/ Technological discipline.
  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience out of which 3 with managerial responsibilities.
  • Experience.to include, but not be exclusive to, Planned Preventative Train maintenance, including Light and Heavy overhaul. An understanding of and being able to fault find on various Train systems including, Traction, Auxiliaries, Doors, HVAC and Couplers.
  • An understanding of the operation and purpose of Depot Equipment, including Ground Lathes, Axle Borers, Shore Supply, Bogie Pre – Load systems, Underfloor & Movable Jacking etc.
  • Safety Certification (NEBOSH preferred).
  • Membership of either IMechE/ IEE is preferred.
  • Chartered Engineer/ working towards Chartership.
  • Relevant Depot Induction.
  • Relevant PTS.
  • Driving License.
