We are hiring! The Senior Airport Electrical Design Engineer will be based out of our office in Any location there is an office. This job will include design work at airports nationwide, related to the design and construction of airfield lighting systems, and offers an excellent opportunity to work with professionals all around the country. How will you contribute to the team?
Leads/supports coordination with diverse design teams comprised of variety of design professionals and multi-discipline subconsultants during design and construction phases.
Develops plans, specifications, reports, and engineer’s estimates for a variety of aviation-related projects, including airside and landside.
Oversees design elements including, airfield lighting, airfield lighting vault design, NAVAID design, apron lighting and phasing plans.
Conducts or oversees personnel involved in engineering investigations.
Analyzes technical problems, assessing the feasibility of proposed techniques and procedures, and devising new approaches and alternative solutions.
Responsible for quality control, maintaining quality standards in all work produced, and checking computations or reviewing designs and drawings performed by others.
Coordinates work with other engineers and professionals within and outside own discipline, and with support services staff.
Acts as design representative during project Construction Administration for airside and landside projects, delegating and tracking submittals and RFIs, and attending regular construction update meetings with clients.
May occasionally manage projects. Analyzing project dimension and scope and preparing or overseeing the preparation of cost and manpower estimates, schedules, and job budgets.
Occasional travel will be required.
Performs such other duties as the supervisor as deemed necessary.
What will you contribute?
B.S. or M.S. in Engineering. M.S. or graduate level technical coursework preferred. This level may be achieved by Engineers with ten years’ experience since B.S. or nine years since M.S. Typical incumbent has 5 to 10 years of experience.
Good interpersonal skills and capable of developing technical writing, and communications skills.
6+ years of airfield lighting design and construction experience will be considered.
Detailed knowledge of airport design standards including FAA Advisory Circulars and FAA Orders is strongly preferred.
Proven ability to manage large scope operations and provide leadership to multiple levels of management and technical professionals.
Strong computer skills and knowledge with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD Civil 3D is required.
P.E. license is required.
