What will be your contribution to the team?


To successfully fulfill this role, the individual will be responsible for, among other things, the following:

  • Consult customers, advise them, identify and resolve process-related issues.
  • Conceptual, basic and detailed design of battery manufacturing processes and CAM manufacturing processes.
  • Participate and support the proposal process for any opportunities in the market.
  • Preparation of white papers.
  • Participate in business development activities, through customer networking, participation in industrial events
  • Participate and support the proposal process for any opportunities in the market.

  • Develop process architecture in the early stages of projects
  • Understanding of process requirements to support the appropriate development of architectural schemes.
  • Conduct workshops and meetings with customers and suppliers.
  • Lead process design efforts on international projects.

Lead the process engineering team to:

  • Calculations needed to size equipment and identify manufacturing equipment and utility needs.
  • Drafting of documents to create specifications and tender documents.
  • Prepare technical reports.
  • Production of block flow diagrams, PFDs, P&IDs, drawings of plans and thermal and material balances.
  • Support the commissioning of mechanical and process systems and participate in FATs and SATs.
  • Troubleshooting equipment and process issues.
  • Participate in and contribute to the revision of 3D models of equipment, the revision of piping design and the revision of the building layout.

  • Supervise junior engineers.
  • Assume the role of Project Director:
    • Coordinate the execution, objectives, and monitoring of the activities of its multidisciplinary project team including suppliers.
    • Management and monitoring of project costs.
    • Analyze the financial aspect of the project.
    • Participate in monthly project review meetings and perform required actions.
    • Management and monitoring of the quality of deliverables and services according to the contract.
    • Carry out the closure of the project according to internal quality processes.
    • Monitor and control accounts receivable and accounts payable for his/her project.
  • Assume the role of Project Director:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering or equivalent. A master's degree in a related field is an asset.
  • A minimum of 10 years of consulting design experience in battery manufacturing is preferred.
  • Licensing from a professional engineering association (in Canada) is an asset. Member of the Professional Engineers of Quebec and Ontario preferably.
  • Advanced knowledge of regulated environments (US, Europe and Asia) is an asset.
  • Production of process simulation models. (SuperPro, SchedulePro).
  • Ability to travel (~25%).
  • CFD simulation would be an asset.
  • Experience with AutoCAD would be an asset.
  • Autonomous and organized.
  • Ability to thrive in a teamwork environment.
