How will you contribute to the team?

Under supervision, performs several of the following duties, depending on the program/project and in accordance with established standards and applicable regulatory policies:

  • May assist in production coordination, and/or in the planning, organization and documentation of projects.
  • May collect technical data to support technical professionals and project managers.
  • May perform computations and prepare tabulations and graphs. - May arrange or coordinate internal/external technical meetings.
  • May assist in the preparation of fee proposals and scopes of work.
  • May assist in preparing specifications for projects.
  • May assist in the preparation of proposals and presentations.
  • May assist in the coordination and tracking of project submittals.
  • May assist in conducting analyses and preparing technical studies and reports.
  • May prepare permit applications, including engineering reports, for regulatory agency review and approval.
  • May provide database support for projects, to include document control, project logs, etc.
  • May assist with project scheduling, utilizing MS Projects and Primavera, or other applicable software.
  • May provide technical writing support.
  • May provide coordination of CAD work.
  • May perform such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.
  • Complexity (Variety or uniqueness of tasks; relative difficulty or importance of work performed; size of unit supported, etc.): Performs work which involves diversified technical duties of a professional level, typically requiring specialized skills, experience, and/or academic training, in support of assigned projects.
  • Decision-Making (Supervision received; independent judgment or initiative; consequence of error): Works under the supervision of a technical professional or other technical/project manager, as required by position and assigned responsibilities, consistently exercising discretion and independent judgment in the performance of professional-level technical duties.
  • Work direction given to others (Titles and number of personnel; type of direction given): May give work direction or coordinate the work of technicians and others who assist in specific assignments.
  • Internal contacts (Required interaction/relationship with others within the organization): Interfaces with technical professionals and technical managers.
  • External contacts (Required interaction/relationship with others outside the organization): Limited interaction with clients, subcontractors and regulatory agency personnel.

What will you contribute?

  • Bachelor's degree plus continued education through workshops, seminars, and related courses and/or two years of experience in engineering or related technical professional activities, exhibiting familiarity with related computer programs and applicable permitting work.
  • Good technical writing, analytical ability and computer skills.
  • General Competencies expected of all professionals and managers are as follows: Client Service, Commitment, Communication, Innovation & Continuous Improvement, Professionalism, Quality, and Teamwork.
  • Ability to walk long distances, climb ladders, stoop, squat and crawl down into ditches; ability to observe construction activities and distinguish colors; and ability to perceive back-up alarms and other warnings; ability to travel to project sites as necessary.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions, subject to insects, flooded terrain and equipment/traffic hazards.
  • Must be able to process paper and electronic documents and use computer.
  • If position requires driving a company-owned, leased or rented vehicle or own personal vehicle, incumbent must have valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company policy.
