Location - Saint-Léonard

Your role within the team:

• The successful candidate will be performing inspection and audits of the construction project on the roadways, roadsides, drainages, guiderails, bridges and traffic control services. He/She will also be involved in highway maintenance activities and rehabilitation work on bridges. 
• On the rehabilitation projects, the student will be in charge of calculating quantities for payments for different item of work, reporting advancement of the work and assuring daily inspection for quality control after receiving instructions from the Engineering department and/or maintenance department.
• They may also be expected to help out in other general tasks where needed and directed by the Chief Engineer and the Operational Technician.
• The students will participate in Safety Orientation Training. Brun-Way has a comprehensive Hazard Assessment in place, and this will be reviewed with the student.  Pre-job Hazard Assessments MUST be performed, and every student will be trained prior to attempting job tasks.

The ideal candidate

• Students who have completed 2 years of study in civil engineering technology, engineering, design and transportation or other relevant programs.
• Bilingualism in French and English
• Excellent MS Office skills.
• Able to take part in discussions with the team member and peers.
• Excellent written, presentation and communication/briefing skills; able to present to audiences of peers.
• Strong relationship building skills; able build trust and advocacy with others.
• Excellent interpersonal skills; able to engage staff.
• The student must possess a valid driver’s license and is expected to provide their own transportation to / from the office for work.
