Pete first joined Atkins on a summer placement after studying Civil Engineering at University – staying for just long-enough to fund a few months travelling before starting work for good. On his return he joined the Bristol Transport Planning team as a graduate and has stayed with the team ever since. He now manages projects and provides technical leadership within the team.

Early on, Pete enjoyed the opportunity to work on a variety of projects for local clients, from safety improvement schemes, freight management schemes, transport strategies, and secondments into local authorities delivering town centre parking zones. This wide base of experience helped Pete, with Atkins support to gain Chartered Engineer status through CIHT.

More recently, Pete has focused his career on feasibility studies and design, working on walking, cycling and public realm projects. He is an active member of the internal Technical Network, sharing knowledge and opportunities with colleagues and improving the quality of designs delivered for our clients, and shaping a step change in walking and cycling infrastructure.
