Job Title: Facility Management Consultant - Mechanical

 

Job Description:

 

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced facility management (FM) consultant to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing multiple Operations and Maintenance (O&M) contractors on a large-scale transportation project. As an FM mechanical Subject Matter Expert (SME), you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective operation of all facility assets, including MEP systems, architectural assets, and soft services, with a special emphasis on mechanical systems.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Technical Oversight:

  • Provide subject matter expertise in HVAC, Fire Suppression, Plumbing, and relevant BMS and Fire Alarm interface systems to oversee the work of O&M contractors.
  • Manage soft services and architectural maintenance.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and project specifications.

Documentation Review:

  • Review and analyze technical documents related to mechanical systems, such as maintenance service plans,
  • Ensure that all O&M contractors' submissions meet the project's quality and safety requirements.

Problem Resolution:

  • Act as a technical escalation point for mechanical related issues, providing timely and effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with O&M contractors to address and resolve any mechanical or operational challenges.

Quality Assurance:

  • Implement and maintain quality assurance processes for HVAC systems across the project.
  • Monitor and assess the performance of O&M contractors, identifying areas for improvement.

Communication:

  • Foster effective communication channels with O&M contractors, project managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare and deliver technical reports and presentations on HVAC system performance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization or extensive experience in HVAC and fire suppression systems.
  • 10+ years of proven experience in facility management in a project management or consulting environment.

 

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems, including design, installation, and maintenance.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic project management environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to ensuring high-quality work.

 

Relevant certifications in HVAC of fire suppression systems would be advantageous.
