Candu Energy Inc./ AtkinsRéalis Nuclear Inc. is actively seeking qualified I&C Designer, Modeler / Drafter to support engineering roles for nuclear projects in major areas, such as, new build in the province of Ontario, international new builds, refurbishment and continuous plant operation support modifications for nuclear power plants.

How will you contribute to the team?

• Perform I&C design utilizing AutoCAD 2D, database driven P&ID / Plant 3D;
• Prepare full range of I&C related engineering drawings based upon notes, sketches, vendor drawing and general direction from design team. Drawings include, but not limited to: wiring diagrams, location plans, junction box details, network block diagrams, loop diagrams, P&IDs and installation details;
• Perform 3D modelling of instrumentation, junction boxes and panels
• Develop database driven Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID's),
• Perform drafting work via AutoCAD 2D and Plant 3D;
• Utilizing Instrumentation design software and instrumentation’s catalog information in preparation of P&ID, 3D modeling and other design drawings;
• Provide I&C support to Construction and Start Up personnel as required;

The Ideal Candidate:

• Technical proficiency in use of at least one of the common industry 3D, CAD, and BIM design software packages: Autodesk Plant 3D, Bentley (MicroStation, Navisworks, Bentley View), SmartPlant, etc.;
• Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D;
• Familiar with instrumentation principle of operation and installation requirement;
• Experience in large scale Concept-to-Design-to-Implementation projects;
• Working knowledge of ISA standards including ISA 5.1and ISA 5.4;
• College degree plus five to ten years of progressive drafting / modeling and design experience in I&C field; Experience in green-field/new-builds engineering design work as I&C designer, Drafter / Modeler is an asset.
