We are looking for mechanical engineer having 5 to 7 years of experience in minerals and metals field to join our team. This role will be based at our Atkins office, Mumbai. Our team within Minerals and Metals Business specializes in taking on the most significant engineering projects in beneficiation and smelting processes of Copper, Zinc, Lead, Aluminium, and Iron metals.  We also support other parts of AtkinsRéalis business such as water, environmental, and Industrial covering the full life cycle solutions.

Preferred skills:

  • Equipment specifications and vendor’s engineering for electro-mechanical packages.
  • Exposure in over-all plot plant development is preferable.
  • Building GA development.
  • To develop the technical spec and data sheet of furnace, crane, compressor, blower, boiler, bag filter, STG, and condenser.
  • Production of deliverables such as design definition and substantiation documents, detailed equipment specifications, performance test specifications.
  • To develop the technical spec and data sheet of all kinds of pump. 
  • Hands on experience in Minerals and Metals sector.
  • Fair knowledge about application of AutoCAD, Plant 3D and SP3D software.
  • Exposure in proposal engineering and estimation.
  • Exposure in detailed engineering.
  • Review of the vendor’s documents and drawings including design calculations.

How will you contribute to the team?

To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • Working within Minerals and Metals business sector in our office, you will be responsible for delivery of mechanical design and engineering projects.
  • You must be able to appreciate complex practical and technical issues and to work constructively with a broad range of stakeholders that are either local to you or distributed across multiple sites.
  • The opportunities we have are varied in size and nature where the work is particularly discovery in nature.  To help us grow the future of our business we are particularly keen to speak to individuals who are building a career as a professional mechanical engineer, who are delivery focused, and enjoy being customer focused.
  • Other aspects of the role will include supporting the growth of our capabilities through building a reputation for excellence, mentoring others, supporting business development and bidding activities.

What will you contribute? 

The Person -

Direct and demonstrable experience of successfully managing one or more of the following types of engineering projects to agreed time, cost, and quality requirements:

  • Mechanical design and engineering.
  • Delivery of drawings and documentations.
  • Consultancy services supplying engineering advice.
  • Your experience in working collaboratively with teams spread across multiple geographical locations.
  • You’ll have excellent communication, listening, stakeholder management and influencing skills. Through your work you will also help support and shape the development of future business.
  • You’ll enjoy turning your hand to new challenges and will be keen to learn, whilst also wanting to support others within our diverse multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Must be an Engineering Professional.
  • Able to motivate self and teams, deal with conflict and create a collaborative team culture to meet client requirements.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary.
  • Willing to work flexibly with occasional out of hours work to accommodate engineering project and client requirements.
