AtkinsRealis are currently looking for experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our team to work on newly awarded projects across varying sectors and various locations within UAE. We need people with UAE driving license. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a growing team on high profile projects within in UAE.

Employment practice

Post-contract

  • Can undertake interim payments to be approved by Managers

  • Can write monthly cost reports to be approved by Managers

  • Can evaluate and negotiate basic variations with general contractors

  • Can manage provisional sum expenditure

  • Can make assessments for materials of site

  • Can make payment recommendations for professional services for approval by Managers.

Pre-Contract

  • Pre and post contract commercial support (POMI and FIDIC);

  • Management of bonds, insurances and guarantee logs;

  • Interim valuations and payment certificates;

  • Assisting in variations analysis, recommendations and management;

  • Assisting in risk and value management and cost control functions;

  • Assisting in costs analysis project work;

  • Assisting in identifying, analysing and developing responses to commercial risks;

  • Assisting in preparation of progress/ cost reports;

  • Reporting to Managing Quantity Surveyor on all commercial issues;

  • Understanding the implications of health and safety regulations;

  • Attendance and representation at commercial meetings.

Qualifications / Typical experience

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying; or

  • Degree qualified in Engineering with MSc in Quantity Surveying

  • MRICS preferred;

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience

  • Has at least 3 years Middle East Experience

  • Works within a wider delivery team

  • Has successfully contributed to the delivery of pre and post contract services on a limited number of projects

  • Can demonstrate pre and post contract experience on some asset types

  • Typically assists more senior member of the team in execution and management of tasks at a project level

Technical knowledge

Construction technology

  • Has a good understanding of most aspects of construction technology

  • Has a good understanding of local contracts and practices (for 2b- as expected by APC)

  • Has a good range of experience across various vertical and horizontal construction assets

  • Has a good awareness of basic construction technology solutions that Employers may wish to discuss
