The Opportunity:

We’re looking for a Senior Engineer / Associate Principal Engineer to join our Bridges and Civils team within our Transportation Practice in Birmingham. You’ll have the chance to work on high-impact, prestigious projects across the Midlands and beyond, contributing to major local and international frameworks, as well as a variety of projects for local councils across the region.

The Role:

In this role, you’ll bring your technical and delivery expertise to a variety of civil and structural design projects across new highways, rail schemes, asset management, and assessment works. Your responsibilities will include end-to-end management of design packages and projects, maintaining project profitability, and ensuring all deliverables meet our stringent quality assurance standards.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A background in civil engineering with a passion for delivering multidisciplinary projects in highways, rail, or local authority sectors.
  • Proven experience in design, maintenance, and supervision of civil or structural projects, with a focus on bridges, highways, or rail environments.
  • Strong project management, financial control, and stakeholder engagement skills, paired with a commercial mindset.
  • A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach to delivering high-quality results on time and within budget.

Qualifications You Bring:

  • BEng/MEng or MSc degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Chartered status and membership with ICE or IStructE.
  • In-depth knowledge of design standards such as DMRB, MCHW, Eurocodes, and Network Rail Standards.
