We are currently seeking a Senior Rock Mechanics Engineer to join the Geotechnical Practice in Ontario (GTA, Kingston, or National Capital Region), providing technical and operational leadership, having superior client relations skills and a proven ability to deliver major assignments.

Your role within the team:

• The successful applicant will be a Senior Geotechnical Engineer specializing in Rock Mechanics with a proven technical and project management track record.
• The role includes the execution of complex and major programs.
• Supporting proposals efforts for large and complex.
• Mentoring junior staff and contributing to the growth of the team.
• Acting as a technical reference for projects where rock mechanics expertise would be required, as well as help develop and expand the infrastructure geotechnics capability.

The ideal candidate:

• The candidate will have a strong academic background in civil engineering or geology with a post-graduate qualification in a geotechnical subject and a minimum of 15 years’ pertinent experience with extensive experience and focused expertise on rock mechanics and rock engineering projects dealing with rock face stability, tunneling, and underground excavations in rock, foundations, and rockfall hazards.
• Proven experience in rock mass characterization and assessment of geological and/or geotechnical conditions.
• Professional Engineering License in Ontario, and ideally Quebec.
• Proven experience in a senior role in a fast-moving engineering consultancy environment with application of Design Standards and Guidelines in a design and ground investigation environment.
• Project management experience and understanding of the needs and approaches to the engineering consultancy and design markets, including relationships with clients and work planning.
