Transportation ITS and Traffic Intern - Summer 2025

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Transportation ITS & Traffic Intern to join our Henderson, NV office.

Our Internship Program, Explore, is designed for college students pursuing a degree in a STEM field and provides opportunities to learn what it’s like to work in a professional environment and apply what’s learned in class to the real-world challenges we face every day.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide administrative and operations support.
• Responsible for the compilation of data and the preparation of reports.
• Assist with preparation of design plans
• Assist with preparation of traffic signal models
• Coordinate within organization unit to ensure consistency with policies and procedures.
• Must have good computer skills and be able to utilize standard office software.

QUALIFICATIONS

• EXPERIENCE:
  • College level courses in math, technical drafting, computer assisted drafting and/or science may be required. No experience is generally required with the applicable college courses or equivalent training, or if accepted into an Associate's or Bachelor's degree program in a related technical field.

• EDUCATION:
  • Must have completed 48 (or rising Junior) hours towards a civil engineering, or relevant degree from an ABET accredited program by the start of the internship (Summer 2025).

• SPECIAL SKILLS:
  • Math skills to perform simple calculations; willingness to learn. 
  • Basic computer skills required to enter data into spreadsheets or databases.
  • Interest in transportation and traffic engineering
  • Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation (preferred)

Expected compensation range is between $25- $31 hourly depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
