We are hiring! Atkins is seeking a Water Resources Engineering Intern to join our Orlando, FL office.

The Atkins Internship Program is designed for college students pursuing a degree in a STEM field and provides opportunities to learn what it’s like to work in a professional environment and apply what’s learned in class to the real-world challenges we face every day.
How will you contribute to the team?
- Develops hydrologic and hydraulic models, which will be used for the planning and design of stormwater management facilities, technical drainage studies, FEMA letters and reports, transportation drainage projects, other design projects.
- Conducts research on site conditions and regulatory agency requirements.
- Performs various routine drafting and CAD assignments.
- Performs data analysis and/or data processing using ArcGIS
- Assists in analysis of storm drain systems, pond design, culvert analysis and bridge hydraulic analysis.
- Assists with preparation of cost estimates and technical reports and memorandums.
- Participates maintaining quality standards in all work produced
- May coordinate work with other engineers and professionals within and outside own discipline, and with support services staff.
- May perform other duties as the supervisor may deem necessary from time to time.
What will you contribute?
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Must have completed 60 hours towards a civil engineering degree from an ABET accredited program by the start of the internship.
SPECIAL SKILLS
- Math skills to perform simple calculations; willingness to learn.
- Basic computer skills required to enter data into spreadsheets or databases.
- Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, ArcGIS (preferred)
PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATIONS
- EI or EIT preferred
