Job Title: BIM Engineer

Location: Raleigh, North Carolina

As a Building Information Modelling (BIM) Engineer you will have a strong background in BIM technologies and a passion for leveraging digital tools to optimize the design, construction, and operation of power infrastructure projects.

What will you do?

  • Collaborate with project teams to develop BIM execution plans and workflows tailored to specific project requirements.
  • Utilize BIM software (such as Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks) to create and maintain 3D models of power infrastructure systems, including substations, switchgear, and transmission lines.
  • Coordinate with engineers, designers, and other stakeholders to integrate design information into the BIM model, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Perform clash detection analyses to identify and resolve design conflicts, minimizing rework and optimizing project schedules.
  • Generate 2D drawings, schematics, and construction documentation from the BIM model for use in design reviews, permitting, and construction activities.
  • Develop and implement BIM standards, templates, and best practices to enhance project efficiency and quality.
  • Provide technical support and training to project team members on BIM software and methodologies.
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in BIM technologies and assess their potential impact on Linxon's projects and workflows.

Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Architecture, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in a BIM-related role within the construction or engineering industry.
  • Proficiency in BIM software platforms, such as Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks.
  • Strong understanding of BIM concepts, methodologies, and workflows.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Experience with power infrastructure projects (substations, transmission lines, etc.) is a plus.
