A Commissioning Engineer is responsible for overseeing the installation, testing, and commissioning of systems, equipment, and infrastructure in various projects, ensuring they are fully operational and meet the specified requirements. They work closely with design teams, contractors, and clients to ensure proper functionality, safety, and compliance with regulatory standards

What will you do?

  • Review technical specifications and design documents to understand project requirements.
  • Conduct pre-commissioning, commissioning, and post-commissioning tests on equipment, machinery, and systems.
  • Troubleshoot any issues that arise during the testing phase and coordinate necessary adjustments.
  • Inspect and evaluate system installations to ensure they align with project designs
  • and standards.
  • Monitor the performance of contractors and vendors during system setup and execution.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental regulations, and client specifications.
  • Prepare detailed commissioning plans, reports, and logs for project tracking and completion.
  • Maintain accurate records of all commissioning activities, including any system modifications.
  • Create and submit progress reports to stakeholders and provide recommendations for system improvements.
  • Liaise with project managers, engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure smooth communication during the commissioning process.
  • Provide training and guidance to operational teams on newly commissioned Address client queries and provide support as needed throughout the ommissioning phase.
  • Ensure all systems are fully operational and meet the required performanc standards before handing them over to the client.
  • Conduct final inspections and testing before project completion to guarantee that all aspects of the system function correctly.
  • Support the transfer of knowledge and documentation to the client’s operational staff.

Experience, Education and other Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering (or a related field).
  • Proven experience in commissioning, testing, and validation processes.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
  • Certifications in commissioning or relevant disciplines (e.g., Certified Commissioning Professional (CCP)) may be an advantage. The candidate should be able to oversee and
  • monitor the site commissioning activities.
  • Basic knowledge about Substation schemes, CRP schematic for ICT bay, Line Bay, TIE bay, Reactor Bay, BBP & etc.
  • Site testing procedure for Outdoor Equipment up to 400 kV – CB, CT, Isolator, LA, WT etc
  • Principle of Busbar protection, ICT Deferential, REF, Line Protection & LBB Protection and its circuit and site testing procedure.
  • Ability to carry out the Busbar & ICT stability test
  • Basic Principle of PLCC & FOTE schematic and to carry out the end-to-end test.
  • Basic knowledge about SCADA architecture and Bay signals validation
  • Knowledge about the Safety measures while working in electrical system
  • Pre-Commissioning procedures of Aux Systems – Battery, Charger, LT Swgr, Firefighting system
  • Trouble shooting – post commissioning.
  • Co-ordination with PM, Third Party Commissioning Teams, Customer for successful commissioning.
  • Strong understanding of system engineering, control systems, and safety standards.
  • Proficient in reading technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills to work with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines under pressure.Familiarity with relevant industry software and tools
