SNC-Lavalin recherche un ingénieur électrique (alternateurs hydroélectriques), pour contribuer aux projets courants et futurs au sein de l'équipe Turbines et Alternateurs.
SNC-Lavalin possède une importante équipe expérimentée en hydroélectricité (plus de 100 employés), composée principalement d'ingénieurs et de techniciens, située à Montréal et à Vancouver. Les domaines d'activité de cette équipe comprennent la géotechnique et la géologie, le génie civil et la structure, l'hydrologie et l'hydraulique, la mécanique et l'électricité. Le groupe Turbine et Alternateur fait partie de l'équipe Mécanique. Dans votre rôle d'ingénieur électrique (alternateurs hydroélectriques), vous relèverez du chef d'équipe GTA (Groupe Turbine / Alternateur).
L'équipe hydroélectrique canadienne couvre le marché canadien, mais aussi le marché international à l'occasion. Il est envisageable que vous participiez à des projets tant canadiens qu'internationaux.
Quelle sera votre contribution dans l’équipe ?
Vous prendrez en charge des mandats techniques spécifiques aux alternateurs électriques. Les types de mandats peuvent inclure :
- Ingénieur qui représente le client (ex. révision des dessins, des calculs, des procédures d'installation et de mise en service, des non- conformités, etc.)
- Fournir des conseils techniques aux clients
- Réalisation de calculs d'ingénierie pour les clients
- Génération de spécifications pour les clients
- Produire des dessins techniques avec l'aide de techniciens
- Assistance aux clients pendant le processus d'appel d'offres
- Coordination de certaines tâches sur des projets EPC avec d'autres disciplines techniques
- Fournir un soutien technique à notre équipe de vente
- À l'occasion, effectuer des visites de site ou d'atelier / supervision de chantier / inspections
- Réaliser des projets d'amélioration interne pour accroître la base de connaissances de l'équipe GTA.
- Promouvoir les valeurs fondamentales de SNC-Lavalin - sécurité, intégrité, collaboration et innovation.
Que recherchons-nous ?
- Diplôme universitaire en génie électrique. Au minimum, l'admissibilité à l'enregistrement en tant qu'ingénieur professionnel au Canada est nécessaire.
- Au moins 5 ans d'expérience dans les aspects électriques des alternateurs hydroélectriques (soit chez un fabriquant, un propriétaire, un consultant, ou équivalent).
- Très bonnes compétences en communication (orale et écrite) en anglais. Une connaissance fonctionnelle du français est essentielle.
- Des connaissances techniques électriques connexes en dehors de l’électrique des alternateurs (ex. instrumentation, BoP électrique, protection et contrôles, etc.) sont considérées comme un atout.
- Capacités de leadership, proactivité, esprit d'équipe
- Maîtrise de la suite MS Office.

Electrical Engineer (Hydroelectric Generators)

SNC-Lavalin is looking to hire a Electrical Engineer (Hydroelectric Generators), to contribute to the ongoing and future projects as part of the Turbine & Generator team.
SNC-Lavalin has a large and experienced Hydropower team (100+ employees), consisting of mainly engineers and technicians, located in both Montreal and Vancouver. Within this team, disciplines include Geotechnical and Geology, Civil and Structural, Hydrology and Hydraulics, Mechanical, and Electrical. The Turbine and Generator group is part of the Mechanical team. In your role as Electrical Engineer (Hydroelectric Generators), you would be reporting to the Turbine & Generator Team Lead.
The Canadian Hydropower team covers the Canadian market, but also the international market on occasion. It is conceivable that you would be participating in both Canadian and International projects.
How will you contribute to the team?
You will take on technical mandates specific to electrical generator. The types of mandates can include:
- Owner’s engineer (ex. review of drawings, calculations, installation and commissioning procedures, non-conformances, etc.)
- Providing technical advice to clients
- Performing engineering calculations for clients
- Generation of customer specifications
- Producing technical drawings with the help of technicians
- Supporting clients during tendering process
- Coordination of certain tasks on EPC projects with other technical disciplines
- Providing technical support to our Sales team
- On occasion, perform site or shop visits / construction supervision / inspections
- Perform internal improvement projects to increase the knowledge base of the T&G team

What will you contribute?
- University degree in Electrical Engineering. As a minimum, eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer in Canada is needed.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in electrical aspects of hydro-generators (either with an OEM, with an Owner, with a Consultant, or similar).
- Very good communication skills (oral and written) in English. Working knowledge of French is essential.
- Related technical electrical knowledge outside of generator electrical (ex. instrumentation, electrical BoP, protection and controls, etc.) is considered an asset.
- Leadership abilities, proactive, team player
- Proficient with MS Office Suite.
