Job Title: Legal Counsel

Location: Raleigh, NC

This role is an in-house legal counsel position supporting the Raleigh North Carolina office of Linxon US, LLC.  The role reports to the Head of Legal and Contract Management (NAM).   We are looking for an attorney with 5 to 10 years of experience who has worked for a law firm (or in-house) on behalf of clients in the construction industry.  The ideal candidate will have experience advising clients in connection with engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) offerings for utility grid infrastructure projects.    

The successful candidate will provide the US business unit with expert advice on all aspects of its EPC business. 

Responsibility :

  • Support and provide advice to Linxon in all legal matters, primarily in contract and procurement matters.
  • Research and implement proper construction and engineering licensing for bids and projects in various states.
  • Analyze contracts in light of corporate guidelines and policies and the interest of project stakeholders.
  • Willing to learn how claims and disputes are handled in construction projects and take ownership thereafter.
  • Train Linxon employees in Linxon internal regulations as well as in legal matters
  • Support country integrity officer in integrity matters, and integrity training of Linxon employees
  • Provide legal advice and opinions on risks and related commercial issues analysis;
  • Participate in the negotiation process of various contracts with clients, joint ventures, subcontractors and suppliers;
  • Interpret laws, decrees and any other document of a legal nature, ensuring that the interests of the corporation are adequately protected;
  • Participate in the application and follow up of the corporations’ policies, procedures, and internal rules;

Experience Required:

  • Member in good standing of a bar association in one of the fifty states of the United States;
  • Excellent proficiency in English, professional proficiency in Spanish is a particular benefit, but proficiency in any other languages is a plus;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are a must;
  • Capacity to operate as a commercial counsel with a minimum of 5-years’ experience supporting clients in the engineering or commercial construction fields. 
  • Experience supporting utility construction projects or clients engaged in heavy industrial manufacturing (particularly power system products) is a big plus; 
  • Must be capable of working as part of a small close-knit team in a demanding, fast-paced, multilingual, and multidisciplinary environment;
  • A strategic communicator, self-motivated, with a commercial, practical, methodical, detail-oriented, flexible and dynamic approach.
  • Comfortable preparing and delivering high-quality legal advice within expedited time frames.

  • Strong communicative and collaborative skills.
  • While you have superior attention to details, structure and organizational skills, you are able to apply a larger, systemic view to projects.
  • You independently take initiative, make decisions and drive projects to conclusion. In addition, you are not afraid to push back and hold others accountable as needed, while your high degree of inter-cultural sensitivity and integrity enable you to lead by influence and maintain strong relationships.
  • You have a business-driven, pragmatic mindset and you understand that good results are achieved in cooperation with management, sales teams and internal and external experts
  • Candidates will be expected to demonstrate hands on contractual knowledge skills (for EPC contracts) during the selection process.

Education Required:

  • Master or bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Law or qualified by experience
