Job Title: Tendering Specialist - Synchronous Condenser Application Engineer

What will you do?

Your main task will be to work with power system studies in various simulation platforms and verify their performance in the connected grid. Included in these studies are voltage regulation and operation during wide-area disturbances, power oscillation damping, sub-synchronous interactions, Geomagnetically Induced Current, failure investigations, advanced controller tuning and more.

Experience, Education and Other Requirement:

  • BS in engineering (electrical)

  • Understanding of Grid stability requirements and competing technologies

  • Familiarity with Australian networks players and regulations

  • Experience in long term projects and relationships building with high level commercial and technical partners.

  • Experience in sales with EPCs/TNSPs. Excellent cooperation skills and interest in building relations

  • Systematic, independent, responsible, and flexible attitude to work. A customer focused attitude and possibilities to travel

  • Great communication skills

  • 5 years experience in design or maintenance experience with medium or high voltage electrical machines mandatory (generators, motors…)

  • 5 years experience with machine control

  • Understanding customer needs by reading customer specifications and participating in customer meetings

  • It is preferred that you have knowledge in several of the programs and tools we are using: RTDS, PSCAD, PSS/E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, Matlab, EMTP-RV, etc

  • programming skills to prepare generic automated scripts, e.g. in Python and MATLAB, for running simulations in various studies

  • experience in modelling of windfarms and studying their stability in projects with the STATCOM application

  • programming skills in FORTRAN and DSL to develop models in PSS/E and PowerFactory, respectively

  • Synchronous Condenser Machine modeling and studies
