How will you contribute to the team?

  • Stops work without fear of reprisal for unsafe conditions potentially affecting personnel safety or environmental risk.
  • Implements the Isotek training program that complies with Department of Energy, Conduct of Operations, Quality Program, and Environment, Safety, and Health requirements for safe operation and protection of the workers, the public, and the environment.
  • Develops and revises training courses (e.g., classroom presentations, computer-based training, on-the-job training, and self-study) written and oral examinations, qualification cards, training procedures, and forms.
  • Maintains training program elements and monitors and evaluates training activities with regard to compliance with requirements.
  • Coordinates development and revision of training and qualification (T&Q) requirements for functional and collateral duty positions and collaborates with senior management for approval of T&Q assignments to staff.
  • Works with management and staff to determine training needs of training activities, program milestones, commitments, and qualification schedules.
  • Evaluates instructor instructional skills and provides feedback for improvement.
  • Research issues from various sources, including document changes, lessons learned, corrective actions, operating experience, and training feedback, to determine training impact and implement appropriate training actions.
  • Uses the electronic training management system to make training assignments; monitor staff training status, such as qualification dates and continuing training/requalification requirements; and report on T&Q progress and status.
  • Attends work planning meetings to ensure T&Q requirements are commensurate with work control requirements.
  • Supports the execution of Integrated Safety Management System (ISMS) guiding principles and core functions and the Isotek Safety Culture.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What will you contribute?

  • High school diploma, or equivalent required; Associate Degree preferred.
  • Baccalaureate in engineering or related science, or baccalaureate degree with courses in education or training with focus on the systematic approach to training, preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working in a highly regulated environment, such as DOE, DOE contractor, or nuclear utility preferred.
  • Experience consistent with the material being presented, preferred.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office.

  • Skilled in performing the activities associated with the systematic approach to training – analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Ability to interface with personnel at all levels of organization for coordinating and developing training material and procedures.
  • Instructors who are responsible for instruction on the Technical Safety Requirements must have successfully completed training on facility operating characteristics and principles, and operating limits (Safety Limits, Limiting Control Settings, and Limiting Conditions for Operation) and their bases or have had significant involvement in writing the Technical Safety Requirements (TSR).
  • Instructors must have demonstrated knowledge of instructional techniques through basic instructor or equivalent training, or experience approved by the training manager. Instructors must have knowledge or expertise for the material being presented.
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or matter.
  • U.S. citizenship required for Isotek Systems, LLC, project positions.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen to be considered.
