AtkinsRealis is seeking to appoint an experienced Associate Principal Structural Engineer to join our Buildings Structures team in the Middle East within our UAE or KSA offices. This is an exciting opportunity to join our growing team within a large multi-disciplinary organisation delivering high quality engineering developments. Responsibilities

  • Support AtkinsRealis by taking design lead on our growing portfolio of significant and complex activities/projects, maintain responsibility for reviewing the quality and accuracy of own and others’ work.

  • Encourages the creation and development of innovative ideas with practical solutions, collaborates effectively and efficiently with AtkinsRealis employees and our clients & partners and demonstrates an inclusive One Company mind-set in the support of colleagues throughout AtkinsRealis.

  • Ensure that our structural designs continue to be multidisciplinary coordinated, meets client brief, adequate, safe, efficient, durable, constructible, meets local codes/authorities’ requirements and designed to best engineering practice.

  • To be familiar with procurement, tendering, developing client brief, change management, contracts variations, managing risks, cutting costs, controlling the work based on schedule and cost baselines & ensuring profits exceed expected margins.

  • Keep abreast of industry developments globally, improve technical excellence, H&S regulations, digital design delivery and promoting this culture within the team, running projects and the wider community.

  • Focusing on high-quality standards and Client satisfaction, thereby increasing the chance of repeat business (Business development), by maintaining a high standard of reliability and trust.

  • Be an active part of our Structural Engineering team to help create an inclusive, motivated, engaging and thought-provoking environment committed to growing and continuing to elevate the standard.

  • Assist in maintaining accurate project records for monthly recording of revenue, forward planning in relation to orderbook and revenue/resource forecasting. Assist with the commercial management of the team to ensure costs in line with revenue.

  • Assist/Manage project delivery, maintain collaboration of multi-disciplinary design work to ensure efficient, innovative, and coordinated solutions are produced in accordance with the appropriate Quality Management procedures.

  • Collaborate and engage on projects with representatives undertaking work by other AtkinsRealis business units, external sub-consultants, and third-party design reviewers.

  • Adapt to different cultures and working environments with the ability to work under pressure, in addition, being flexible to travel across the GCC and overseas when required to support project requirements.

Requirements

We are looking for enthusiastic and creative individuals with good written and verbal communication skills who have the desire to learn, grow and work as part of a team. Typically, our senior engineer will have the minimum.

  • Masters/Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering with >12 years’ experience. 

  • Working towards Professional Chartership with an Internationally recognised institution.

  • Professional consulting experience of operating predominantly within challenging consulting environments and where a significant component of that experience should be from solution designs as well as from the management of projects and tenders.

  • Has experience of taking the lead on consulting projects and in acting/assisting as an engineering/technical/functional resource.

  • Preparation of designs throughout all RIBA stages.

  • Has excellent English language skills (written and oral), coupled with strong communication (written and oral) and negotiating skills.
